Customs Duties, Import Taxes & Refused Shipments (International Orders)
International shipments may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, VAT, or other fees imposed by the destination country. These charges are not included in the product price or shipping cost displayed at checkout and are the sole responsibility of the recipient.
Customs fees are determined by local authorities, and we have no control over these charges or the customs clearance process.
If customs duties or taxes are applied and the recipient refuses to pay or declines delivery, the shipment may be delayed, returned, or abandoned by the carrier or customs authorities. Please note that in such cases, customs authorities or shipping carriers may still charge these fees to the sender in order to release and return the package.
If an international order is returned due to unpaid customs fees or refusal at customs, any customs duties, return shipping costs, and additional carrier fees incurred will be deducted from the refund. If these costs exceed the total order value, the order will be non-refundable.
Japanese Melody LLC is not responsible for delays, losses, or additional costs resulting from refused international shipments or unpaid customs charges. We strongly recommend contacting your local customs office prior to placing an international order to understand applicable fees and regulations.
